  1. Live Messenger Auto Opening Link Pictures

    Unfortunately, the auto sharing feature when direct linking pictures from Photo Sharing Websites cannot be modified on Windows Live Messenger 2011.

    This feature is not related to the built-in photo sharing function.

     
     
  2. Where are transferred files stored on WLM ?

    If after having a long chat and exchanging several files, you somehow delete some of them and forget where the rest are, Windows Live Messenger saves all transferred files in a TEMP folder.

    So where are received files located ?

    C:\Users\WINUSER\AppData\Local\Temp\MessengerCache

    You can order them through Date Modified and open them with the proper program.

  3. How To Re-Sync Facebook Friends

  4. Stop Facebook Notifications on Live Messenger

    When you have aroung 20 contacts on your MSN, receiving an online status notifications can be pleasant.  That changes a lot after your integrate Facebook and import around 500 friends.  Receiving Facebook Notifications becomes annoying.

    1. Go to Tools » Options
    2. Choose Notifications
    3. Uncheck the option Notify Me When Any Friend Signs In To Messenger.

    Unfortunately this will also prevent receiving notifications when your regular friends log in to messenger.

  5. Change Your Contact Display Name

    After the release of Windows Live Messenger 2011, most of us complaint about the nickname feature removal.

    And despite all that ranting we can at least modify our contacts’ names and choose whatever nickname we want to.

    1. Right Click on your Contact’s Name
    2. Choose Edit Contact
    3. Once on Windows Live, change First and Last Name (You can’t leave a blank space on the latter field, but you could just add a dot)

  6. Show Webcam option and Windows Live Messenger 2011

  7. Unblock Contacts Issue on MAC Computers

    Due to problems related to updater files on MAC.  Unblocking Contacts function doesnt seem to work on Windows Live Messenger 2009.  Despite trying once and again, the contact remains blocked, and even if you go to the blocked contact list under Tool, they are not there.  If you check with online IM like Meebo they are actually unblocked.
